I believe that life is a precious gift and is to be lived to the full. As the saying goes – “Life is for living”. I believe, however that life is more like being given just the ingredients rather than the finished baked cake. It is ours for the making……. or the breaking.
I believe that ‘success’ is best defined as a way of going about life, that it is about being someone – the most authentic, the happiest, the most-energised, the most connected, the most present you that you can be, in each changing season of your life – and is certainly not a destination.
Sounds easy? But it ain’t. No way….
I believe that everyone’s journey and definition of ‘success’ is unique, that it comes in many forms, shapes and sizes, that it is like a path that keeps changing as we change. One minute you are on it, then suddenly, somehow, you aren’t. Circumstances change. Your environment changes. You change. And for a brief moment in time, you get stuck – you experience what I call, STUCKness. In the blink of an eye it feels like you have not only lost your SUCCESS but you have lost your ENERGY and your HAPPINESS as well. It has happened to me, many times.
I also know first-hand that life is hard for everyone. Our subconscious default most of the time is SURVIVAL mode. Overcoming obstacles in the outside world and ‘fighting demons’ in the inside world takes real work and real courage, and that it’s close relatives – purpose, worth, abundance and joy – don’t just turn up overnight. I also have no idea how and why but it seems to me that the harder you push on, the more resistance there is. It’s not easy. Not meant to be.
But I believe success leaves clues which can be learned and learned and learned, that conscious patterns need to be set, habits and disciplines adopted and changes continually made as our life-cycles and seasons change.
And that’s just the start!! What lies ahead is often then a long, lonely road of many hours of toil, a soul-searching journey where it will ultimately be our grit and an unwavering belief, in what it is that we are doing and who we are becoming, that will finally see us through to the end.
I also believe that we are all connected both to a loving universal divine ground of being (aka God) and that each and everyone’s short existence here on earth is deeply tied to that divine intelligence, to mother earth and to all others – both those that have already adopted a “successful” way of going about their life and those that are yet to do so, especially those that are stuck.
And so, at SUCCESSness, I dedicate my work to those of us who may find ourselves in a season of being stuck and I see it as my mission to try and get people going again, in whatever small way I can.
