How I Would Describe Myself | I am a serial entrepreneur, a global child. I’m a serial blogger, a writer, I like to create platforms for dialogue.
I Am Driven | To do something where there are few women and especially few women of colour. That’s where piloting came from.Anything That Leads to Greatness Has Challenges | One was the financial model that I was going to adopt. I needed an operator’s licence in the UK and also quite a lot of money to insure and to even secure the jets. So I thought about implementing the company without a licence, but as a travel agent’s. So I don’t have to own the private jets in the UK. Now the clients are my clients.
Financial Ethics | I’ll do anything ethically and morally within my own conscience to get money.
Get Yourself Known | Make noise within your industry space. Let people know who you are.
People Buy into People | Investors buy into your ability, your skills. They also look at your networks because they also have vested interest.
Millionaires and Billionaires | Where time IS money, there is a need for private jets, which are nowadays equipped to allow you to not to really leave your office, but to move locations.
I’m very resilient | I believe that my background, my parents, my country, my associations, will never define who I am. I’m a strong believer that, whatever I want to do, I will do it, and I can do it.
Looking For Opportunities | Nine- to-five would never give me an inheritance. What other things could I do within my nine to five set-up to either empower myself or to make passive income?
Self-Help | I read a lot of self-help books about attitude – move from being a victim in your mind, from blaming whoever you have been with to becoming a participant in your life.
Becoming Present and Being Positive | Become who you want to be, every day. When I was 28 years old I told myself that I was going to adopt a positive attitude, regardless of what comes my way. You would never ever meet me with a bad attitude. I always try to have a smile.
A Higher Being |I’m a faithful believer. I believe that there is a higher being up there – who’s God, who tries to guide us towards a certain direction.
The Power Of Networking | Whether you are a CEO of a company or a leader, networking is imperative. And also to train your people to network, to become brand ambassadors for your company. To live, eat, and drink it. I met Richard Branson when he was launching Virgin Money, and within three months I was invited to his home.
Advice on Power Networking | It’s not rocket science. It’s simple. Get up and go and get what you want. Get out of your comfort zone. Many times we fail because we are in our little community. Don’t oversell yourself; always listen to the other person, because you never know what they are selling. Networking is two ways, listening and it’s also sharing information. The right space is important.
The Three Ds | Are from my high school headmaster. We were singing Diligence, Dedication, Determination. Determination plays a key role in my world, as well as within my own employees. I recruit people based on personality traits, which must be in line with those three Ds.
The Three Ps | Passion, Purpose and Perseverance. It’s a way of being, an attitude, because anybody can take all those three Ds and three Ps and if you have those, you can achieve whatever you set yourself to.
Don’t Play the Blame Game | In African settings a lot of people play the blame game. If you want to do something, go out there and do it. If it’s not working, leave it! Move on to something else that you think you can do.
Resources I Use To Stay Inspired | Reading helps to take me to the next goal. I read a lot of magazines on traits that make a CEO, such as Maxwell’s book on attitude. I also do a lot of research on the internet. I contact experts within the industry and ask for help.
Your Life has got a Sell-By Date | The Dalai Lama says that many people live as if they do not realise they have a life span. I said ok, I’m 33. Within twenty years, where do I see my life? And it really changed my mind set.
Important Traits for Manager Leaders | Is the art of delegation and effective people management.
Advice to other entrepreneurs | When you do what you love, every day is a holiday and remember the three Ps, and the three Ds. Perseverance – a lot of people don’t talk about it much but persistence, consistence, and keeping it real are important. If it’s not working don’t hold it. It’s not yours. Ideas are plenty. The world is full of ideas. Nobody owns an idea. Until you do it and you patent what you’re doing, it’s not yours. So look at what is that you love doing. I know it sounds clichéd but it’s real.
The Meaning of Life | We all have a sell-by date. I think for me the meaning of life is, why are we existing? Who are you? For me, life is about realising that I will die at a certain date, but between my birth and that date, I must enjoy what life is offering. Ask yourself, what is it that you want to be remembered for? What legacy do you create? What is it that you want this world to remember you for? For me life means living each day as if you’re going to die tomorrow.
Enjoy Each Day | As if tomorrow never comes, or will never come, but do it within moral bounds ethically. People embrace authentic selves, so just be yourself. If you are a loud-mouth, be a loud-mouth. If you’ve got a crazy brain like mine that thinks of ideas every single minute, do it. Life is too short to worry about what others think.
Flying | It’s a passion that I discovered accidentally. Something happens to me when I fly. When I’m up there my thoughts, just my being transforms from the person who’s on the ground to up there. It’s liberating, yet fulfilling as well.
